Exploring impact across sectors and geographies: work grounded in evidence, shaped by context, and built for lasting change.
Complex challenges rarely sit neatly within one sector.
Our work spans sectors and geographies, but the pattern is consistent. We are brought in when decisions matter, systems are under strain, and evidence needs to hold up in practice. We work across public systems, markets, and communities, combining research, evaluation, and judgement to help organisations see clearly and act with intent.
Public Health & Nutrition
Better data, stronger health systems.
We support public health systems to deliver better and more equitable outcomes. Our work spans nutrition, maternal health, and non-communicable diseases. Combining rigorous evaluation with practical data systems that strengthen accountability and reach
Assessing how public health programmes perform and what it takes to improve reach and equity.
Nutrition baseline in eastern India: A leading philanthropic trust wanted evidence to guide its nutrition strategy across two underserved states. We designed and managed the baseline, introducing digital-first data systems that tracked both coverage and equity. The study gave the client actionable insights to redirect resources and improve targeting.
Maternal and child health systems: An international NGO needed more reliable information from frontline workers. We developed monitoring tools and training protocols that improved data quality and usability. As a result, programme teams could respond faster to gaps in maternal and child health service delivery.
Programme evaluations at scale: Multilateral agencies engaged us to assess mass drug administration and menstrual health initiatives spanning multiple districts. Using mixed methods, we generated insights that strengthened accountability and informed programme adjustments. The evaluations provided both funders and implementers with a clearer picture of effectiveness.
Non-communicable disease tracking: A major foundation sought to understand the rising burden of NCDs across India. We built and managed end-to-end digital systems covering multiple states, enabling real-time analysis. These systems allowed programme teams and policymakers to respond with greater precision and agility
Agriculture & Food Systems
We work on agriculture and food systems where livelihoods, markets, and resilience intersect.
This includes work funded through philanthropy and corporate foundations, grounded in evidence from the field rather than intent from the boardroom.
Rural transformation grants in eastern India: A large business foundation sought to understand the outcomes of its multi-year rural development investments. We designed digital survey tools and managed fieldwork across villages, capturing both livelihood improvements and gaps in service delivery. The findings helped the foundation refine its strategy and prioritize high-impact initiatives.
Women’s health interventions: A major industrial group was funding maternal and child health programmes in partnership with local NGOs. We assessed the reach and quality of these initiatives, building digital monitoring systems that improved accountability. The evaluation not only showed measurable improvements but also identified areas where community engagement needed strengthening.
Education-focused CSR initiatives: A leading financial institution wanted to evaluate the effectiveness of its education portfolio across several states. We designed baselines and conducted outcome assessments that revealed variations in learning progress and programme uptake. The evidence informed the client’s decision to scale successful approaches and rethink weaker models.
Livelihood platforms for farmers: A pharmaceutical foundation supported agriculture and skilling programmes for smallholder farmers. We carried out an impact assessment that combined household surveys with qualitative insights. The results guided refinements in programme design and provided a clearer case for scaling support to vulnerable farmer groups
Education, Skilling & Livelihoods
From classrooms to systems change. Our focus is on evidence that connects education, skills, and livelihoods to real economic and social outcomes.
We help education initiatives move beyond pilots to system-level change. Our work spans early childhood to higher education, combining rigorous assessments with practical insights that sharpen programme design and inform policy.
Bringing clarity to what drives learning outcomes and helping partners scale what works
Nationwide school innovation programme: A central government initiative needed a robust evaluation of its school innovation programme. We managed digital data processes and quality control across hundreds of schools, ensuring reliable evidence on effectiveness. The results helped the programme refine its design and strengthen accountability across states.
Early learning pilots: A leading philanthropic trust was testing innovative approaches in early childhood education. We designed tools and conducted assessments that provided granular insights into student progress. These findings gave the foundation clarity on which interventions to scale and which to adapt.
Adolescent empowerment through education: Foundations and NGOs were investing in adolescent education and life-skills programmes across multiple states. We evaluated these initiatives using mixed methods, identifying successes in digital literacy and gaps in gender inclusion. The insights directly shaped future programme design.
Higher education study: A global foundation wanted to strengthen teaching and governance across Christian higher education institutions. We conducted quantitative and qualitative research across multiple colleges, producing evidence that informed institutional strategies and donor priorities.
Sustainability & Climate Resilience
Building resilience where it matters.
Sustainability means balancing growth with long-term security. We generate the evidence partners need to design policies and programmes that protect both people and ecosystems.
Climate resilience through public works: For an international research institute, we evaluated how large-scale employment schemes like MGNREGA contribute to community resilience against floods and droughts. The findings highlighted both policy strengths and systemic design gaps, shaping recommendations for more climate-responsive programming.
Circular economy transitions: A leading philanthropic trust engaged us to assess community-level impacts of waste and recycling initiatives. Using mixed methods, we identified practices that reduced costs while cutting environmental burdens, helping partners focus on scalable models.
Urban growth and vulnerability mapping: For a national think tank, we analysed economic growth patterns across thousands of towns and mapped vulnerabilities such as heat stress, flooding, and groundwater depletion. The evidence fed directly into a “Growth Hubs” strategy to balance development with resilience.
Just transitions in coal communities: Partnered with a sectoral association to study the social and economic effects of mine closures. Our research revealed worker vulnerabilities and community challenges, informing policy discussions on ensuring fair transition pathways.
Gender & Social Norms
Challenging inequities, shifting norms.
Entrenched norms are among the toughest barriers to equity. Changing them takes more than messaging. Our work spans the full chain: diagnosing what drives behaviours, testing what changes them, and embedding gender transformation into systems and institutions.
Redefining how norms are measured: A global NGO recognised that while everyone spoke about “shifting norms,” few had reliable ways to measure whether it was actually happening. We were commissioned to create a compendium that pulled together tools, frameworks, and lessons from across the sector. The result was a systematised resource that funders and programme designers now rely on to design interventions with measurable outcomes: moving gender transformation from rhetoric to evidence.
Adolescent girls at the centre: In South Asia, millions of adolescent girls face the overlapping challenges of early marriage, lack of education, and limited agency. A regional initiative needed to know if its investments were making a dent. We led deep qualitative assessments across multiple countries, listening directly to girls, communities, and implementers. The findings didn’t just identify successes and failures, they reshaped donor strategy, redirected resources, and guided programme redesign to more effectively match lived realities.
Campaigns tested in real time: Large-scale communications campaigns are notorious for pushing out messages without knowing if they land. For a flagship gender campaign, we built an evaluation that captured feedback in real time through app-based tools and community check-ins. This rapid evidence loop allowed implementers to tweak messages mid-rollout rather than waiting until the campaign was over. The approach demonstrated that with the right tools, campaigns can evolve dynamically, increasing resonance and impact with their intended audiences.
Embedding gender in systems: Gender is often treated as a side theme rather than a driver of programme design. Working with a global NGO, we flipped that equation. Our role was to embed gender frameworks across entire health and education portfolios, from strategic design down to monitoring frameworks. Over time, this work shifted gender from being a compliance requirement to being an organising principle for institutional strategy, reshaping how programmes were funded, designed, and held accountable
Governance, Public Policy & Markets
Elements that strengthen institutions.
We work with governments, multilaterals, and development partners to strengthen public systems through strategy development, policy reviews, institutional diagnostics and assessment of interventions. Our focus is on embedding accountability frameworks that move beyond compliance to deliver real public value.
Evaluating innovation ecosystems: For a central ministry, we conducted strategic sampling and analysis of a national defence innovation scheme. The findings informed future policy on how to nurture startups and scale innovation in critical sectors.
Flagship scheme review: Partnered with a national think tank to evaluate a flagship national school programme to promote research and development, managing digital processes and quality assurance for a nationwide assessment. Results fed into decisions on sustaining and scaling the scheme.
Institutional diagnostics: Carried out assessments of public sector institutions, mapping capacity gaps and accountability bottlenecks. Recommendations provided a roadmap for strengthening service delivery and institutional resilience.
Growth hubs policy analysis: For a government planning body, we combined economic modelling with vulnerability mapping (heat, flood, groundwater stress) to inform a new “Growth Hubs” strategy, balancing regional growth with sustainability and resilience.
